This is an introductory course for first year undergraduate students pursuing a degree in sociology with a major in journalism. The course will explore the various aspects of news reporting, journalism, ethics and the use of new media technologies in supporting news production in a global society.

It will explore the issues on citizen journalism in the light of new media technologies in the global media landscape.
